May’s Table of Contents

From the Editors

Toward the end of this month, we’re reaching a major milestone: on May 27th, we will have published 1000 stories! We also have some exciting plans in the works, which we hope to be able to announce soon.

For Readers:

While it isn’t a traditional Mother’s Day piece, it’s about motherly love — we’re pleased to feature “Saving Darth Vader” by Kip on Sunday May 9th.

Newcomers to EDF’s virtual pages this month include comics writer Shaun Simon and novelist Grace Andreacchi, plus we have new work from long-time favourites such as Robert Swartwood and Deborah Winter-Blood.

For Writers:

We’re still looking for some Father’s Day pieces for June, and Independence Day/Canada Day pieces for July.

Over the past month, we welcomed J.C. Towler and Michelle Jager to our team of slush readers, while Joe Daniels and Martin Turton have moved on to other commitments. We could still use one or two more slush readers — if you’re interested, click here for the details.

And now, the stories for the month ahead…

Every Day Fiction

  • I see four of my favorite EDF authors have flash coming up in May – yay! – and lots of names I don’t recognize whose stories I can’t wait to be introduced to.
