December’s Table of Contents

editorial by Camille Gooderham Campbell

From the Editors

The holiday season is upon us again, and I hope you’re all feeling festive and full of joy. Whether you celebrate Hanukkah or Christmas or Solstice or something else, may you make joyful memories and get lots of books as gifts.

During the month of November, we decided that the time had come to enforce our commenting guidelines a little more closely. I hope you’re all satisfied with the improved atmosphere in our commenting spaces, but if you have further concerns or feedback, please feel welcome to contact us with your thoughts. Our community is important to us, and we want to make sure everyone feels safe, respected, and able to engage in satisfying discussions about our stories.

The holiday season is a time for giving, and in that joyful spirit we hope you’ll check out our Patreon page and pledge a little something to help us keep the stories coming.

Happiest greetings of the season to you all!

For Readers

On December 24th, we will be featuring “Winter Into Spring” by Sarah Crysl Akhtar, a story that does double duty to honour both Christmas Eve and the eighth day of Hanukkah. And then for Christmas Day on December 25th we have “Mona’s Miracle of the Madonna Lips” by JB Smith. You may also enjoy some of the Christmas stories in our archives.

For New Year’s Eve, Dave D’Alessio‘s “The Last Man On Earth” will close out 2014 with a touch of fantasy.

We hope you enjoy these special stories.

For Writers

Got resolutions? We’re looking for one good New Year’s Day story, as soon as it can be found (December 27th at the latest, but we can’t promise to wait if an awesome story comes in sooner).

Also, Odyssey Writing Workshops are our special sponsor for the month (you’ll see their banner ad above the top story all month long) and we hope you’ll check out their site and the excellent programs they have to offer.

And now, let’s see what stories we have for the month ahead…
